Services We Provide

Small-Scale Farm Development

Nishati Safi (NSI) implements practical, high-impact agricultural projects that move communities from subsistence to sustainable enterprise.

We establish and support small-scale farms by identifying suitable land, conducting soil testing, installing irrigation systems, erecting tunnels or shade net structures, and providing starter inputs such as seedlings, tools, and compost.

Training & Skills Development

Agri-skills training, climate-smart agriculture, agribusiness management, and food safety standards.

NSI delivers practical, accredited and non-accredited training programmes that equip participants with hands-on agricultural and enterprise skills. Training includes crop planning, soil health management, modern growing methods (such as tunnel farming, drip irrigation, and hydroponic basics), climate-smart agriculture, composting, and water conservation. Participants are also trained in agribusiness management, record-keeping, costing, and compliance with basic food safety and handling standards. Our approach combines classroom learning with demonstration farms to ensure farmers can immediately apply what they learn and operate productive, profitable small-scale farms.

Youth & Women Empowerment Programmes

Targeted programmes that promote entrepreneurship, employment, and leadership in agriculture.

We design targeted programmes that intentionally prioritise youth, women, and unemployed community members as primary beneficiaries. These initiatives focus on building confidence, leadership, entrepreneurship, and employability within the agricultural value chain. Participants are supported to start micro-enterprises, join cooperatives, or access placement opportunities within local agri-projects. By creating structured pathways into agriculture, we help reduce unemployment, restore dignity, and enable participants to generate sustainable household income.

Market Access & Aggregation

Linking farmers to buyers, retailers, feeding schemes, and local markets through aggregation and logistics support.

NSI strengthens local agricultural economies by linking small-scale farmers to reliable markets. We facilitate off-take agreements with schools, feeding schemes, retailers, and community buyers, and restaurants, while also supporting the establishment of aggregation points where produce from multiple farmers is collected, graded, and packaged. This improves volumes, consistency, and bargaining power, enabling farmers to access better pricing and reduce post-harvest losses through coordinated logistics and distribution.

Agri Business & Enterprise Development

Business planning, financial literacy, cooperative development, and value chain integration support.

To ensure long-term sustainability, NSI provides structured support in business planning, corporate governance, financial literacy, and operational management. Farmers and community groups are guided to develop viable business models, understand input and production costs, manage cash flow, and diversify income through value-added activities such as processing, packaging, and compost production. We also assist with value chain integration—linking production, processing, distribution, and sales into a cohesive, income-generating ecosystem.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Impact Reporting

Tracking farmer progress, productivity, income growth, and social impact outcomes.

We implement a robust monitoring and evaluation framework that tracks farmer participation, productivity levels, income growth, job creation, and social outcomes such as improved food security and youth engagement. Data is collected through farm records, training attendance, and periodic impact assessments. This evidence-based approach allows us to refine programmes, ensure accountability, and provide transparent, credible impact reports to partners, donors, and stakeholders.

Community Food Security Programmes

Establishment of food gardens, school nutrition support, and household food resilience initiatives.

NSI establishes community and school food gardens that provide immediate access to fresh, nutritious produce while serving as practical training sites. These initiatives support school nutrition programmes, promote healthy eating, and strengthen household food resilience by teaching families how to grow and preserve their own food. Surplus produce is channelled into local markets or feeding schemes, ensuring that food security interventions also contribute to income generation and community sustainability.
